About Us

We create exceptional migration solutions

VaultMe was launched in 2014 in Seattle, Washington, to help people move between online accounts without losing their email, files, contacts, and calendars.

Account migrations have always been challenging, and transferring years of online content often involved a lot of effort and time.

VaultMe was built to solve that problem.

Early years

In our early years, VaultMe primarily helped individuals migrate between personal and work accounts. People used VaultMe when changing email addresses, switching from one service provider to another, or consolidating multiple accounts.

Many of our customers were students, graduates, and university staff who were facing the challenge of a closing university account. What happens to years of email and files when a university account is about to be deactivated?

VaultMe evolved to meet that need.

Migration solution for higher education

Over time, VaultMe became a trusted migration solution for higher education institutions and their communities. After conducting thorough reviews of VaultMe's security, compliance, and migration performance, universities began recommending VaultMe to graduating students as a secure and reliable way to retain email, files, contacts, and calendars after leaving school.

Today, VaultMe is used by students from more than 1,500 educational institutions worldwide and is recommended by leading US universities, including Princeton, Stanford, Dartmouth, and many others.

By helping graduates move into alumni or personal accounts, VaultMe helped reduce support burdens for university IT teams while helping students retain access to the content they spent years creating.

The next chapter: administrator-led migrations

In 2022, we entered our next phase.

After years of supporting individual users and educational institutions, we increasingly found ourselves working with IT administrators responsible for organization-wide migrations between Google Workspace and Microsoft 365.

These administrators faced a different challenge. They were migrating not a single account, but entire teams and organizations. For them, minimizing risk and disruption to day-to-day operations was critical. The more we worked with these customers, the clearer our direction became.

Today, VaultMe is focused on administrator-led migrations.

We continue to invest heavily in automation, migration accuracy, scalability, security, and administrator controls. Every new capability we develop is aimed at helping IT teams complete migrations with less effort and greater confidence.

Looking forward

While our customers have changed over the years, one thing has remained constant: the lessons we learned building for individual users.

VaultMe began as a consumer product, where every detail matters and every obstacle is immediately felt by the person using it. We believe administrators deserve the same level of usability, clarity, and attention to detail that people expect from everyday software.

Today, we are focused on helping administrators migrate business content between Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 and building meaningful relationships with our customers.

The technology will continue to evolve, but our goal remains the same: to make migrations even more predictable, even more reliable, and easier to manage for every organization.
